1.
We are alone together Woke up in mourning Found out I'd been married Suddenly unable to untether Sat at its table Studied its face Got up and wandered around to Learn the layout of the place We are alone together The last thing that I wanted Was to go chasing my regret around So I tethered it to my drunkenness And tied another one on There is no tragedy to unite us Just those little deaths we face when we meet Then get back on our feet There is one word I would use To describe us, and One thing we can hold to remind us We are alone together
2.
Cruel Trick 04:34
If I were loyal to you You wouldn't know what to do If you were loyal to me You wouldn't be free Free to turn on a dime While spending every last one Free to turn your means to ends Your lovers to friends Every fence that you're swinging for has got to mend And it's a cruel cruel trick In a dirty dirty game When you love someone so much You got a reputation That precedes your name But you will never be known Until you have been reduced to touch So I have come to be reduced If you were loyal to me You wouldn't know who to be If I were loyal to you It wouldn't be true When you touch me My secrets They come racing to the fore I have So much to say But I'm too busy being yours
3.
Body Out 03:46 video
Take my body out from the equation So there isn't any doubt that I am God And turn me upside down and see what drains right out Caught up in the illusion, caught up in your dream Touch the ground coz you found out that the ground was there For you to touch You can not turn it off so fast You can not find a way to make it last Let the world pass by You know it's gonna keep on spinning And he who sets the rules decides on who is winning The ants, they march along, And we're just as real as them But the fattest of queens can not fathom the truth The signs are all there but she has no proof You can not turn it off so fast You can not find a way to make it last
4.
The machines wouldn't leave us alone We had forgotten how to be without them Took them in and became their home Cannot remember if we'd ever known Grew into a living city The prototype of new creation Anywhere I want to be Everyone is always with me Everything is always on me Everybody's thoughts inside me Evidence has clearly shown We are addicted to the energy The safest thing we've ever known The allure of fire without the blackness of coal The pleasures of the fucking without the burden of a baby The spirit of the dance with your feet up The urges of the appetite no worry for the belly You were sold magic, not freedom Still it was easy to believe them Eyes down, heads bowed Hold it with reverence Eyes Down Head Bowed
5.
Got one foot in the door Got one foot in your mouth One part of you's going nowhere The other part's going south Oh You did not do this to me You did not break my machine You know I've been wrong before But I have never been so sure You did not do this to me You have got one foot in the door And you have got one foot in my mouth Most of me is within But part of me is living without
6.
Masquerade 03:42
What am I gonna do When the lights turn on I don't you anymore I don't know what I need There are all kinds of people who'd line up To be with you So why am I turning away? Why does a man break free? Sometimes a master plan Masquerades as a shot in the dark Sometimes a shot in the dark Is the only thing we have Sometimes we try too hard Trying to do what's best And sometimes a masquerade is All that's left Is it all that's...? What am I gonna do When the lights go out? I known my way around But I don't know what's really there When I woke up this morning I felt all the weight of the system A thousand pounds of expectations Two tons of better times Saltation Dancing like dust in the wind Saltation Out of control in the wild You're the best thing I ever had Now I'm just going through motions Blood runs thicker than water, maybe But blood never made any oceans
7.
I'm drinking your words All my bets are hedged Everything you've said I am willing All your friends are dead You're no good to them But I am thrilling I'm drinking your words Cuz I don't really mind it You've stored an enormous cache of Well-intentioned lies And I know where you'd find it I've plied you enough from these stores of mine I am yours to have Take me while you can I am giving Over and again Over and again Over and over and over again until the sentences are spilling out
8.
Suicide is fashion now  You've got Cobain's note on your shirt  You wear it to your dealer's house  And change it before you get to work Irony is wisdom now  That's the thing you wear on your sleeve If you can't find something you're wild about, child Save your money, go buy something you really believe  If I took the tongue out your mouth  Tell me what would you sing about If I stole the spine out your back Tell me what you'd do about that You could have answers But you chose the facts You've got me convinced  Of your religion I am convinced That your religion is just shared indignance But what's the difference
9.
I know my flesh is weakness I know my flesh is weak So I'm old now With my soul spilling out my skin And the thread of my story Was a patch on a hole I'm a sail that never caught the wind I know my flesh is weakness I know my flesh is weak I know my flesh is weak Because your touch gives strength to me When we were younger Everything seemed possible Everything seemed probably But time turned our bodies against us Draped our skin right off our bones
10.
The meaning of music No signal at all The planet is dying But you've got a car Daddy is coming To take it away The planet is dying And you have a say The senator's sons The fortunate ones Now it is you
11.
When I walk out that door It's all gonna change It won't be all sky And it won't be all rain In the murky black depths When you cast out your net You don't have a choice You just see what you get When you were out there walking alone You should've known And you couldn't help but make it your home That's how it goes, you should've known When you were out there walking alone You should've known it wouldn't be easy Should've known it wouldn't be fair When you were out there walking alone I was floating out in the air When the air is thick with possibility It's possible I don't know what I want What I want, it changes all the time So time will tell me everything this time I've got this odd memory Can't tell where I've been If I saw myself now I wouldn't recognize him When I see my reflection It's only perception Cast down from the depths Beyond recollection

about

What happens when you break up with your entire state of being? Bijou Noir's vivid debut LP We Are Alone Together is a savvy collection of pop songs that probe tectonic fractures in identity, spirituality, fidelity, and loss in the 21st century.

We Are Alone Together deftly calls on diverse influences from neo-soul, indie pop, synth-laden anthems, and goth-tinged industrial while continually subverting expectations. Songwriter Augustus Watkins' watery lyrics weave tapestries of vulnerable emotion while his vocals can burn or balm with singular skill.

Produced in Minneapolis, USA and across Europe (including London, rural Spain, Serbia, and an island in the Adriatic Sea) in a period of nearly ten years, We Are Alone Together is equal parts elegant and world-weary.
