And the truth is While you were talking about the weather I was thinking about god The city's not always this cold God is not always so far You can not start a revolution You can not start a revolution The thing about it While you were complaining about the government I was thinking about my old man He gave me everything he had But somehow he was so far away He did not start a revolution He did not start a revolution You can not start a revolution You can not start a revolution And I have never ever ever been so ignorant in my life And I have never ever ever felt so sure about anything And I have never ever ever been so ignorant in my life And I have never ever ever felt so sure So sure Here’s how it goes I am not talking about money I am speaking about the chance I know that I had more of both but We all want more than we have I can not start a revolution I can not start a revolution You can not start a revolution You can not start a revolution You can not start a revolution With a thing in your hand It’s gonna take a raised fist, man

about

It’s autumn and I’m in a vibrant capitol city which still bears marks from US and NATO bombings that took place decades ago. You can walk past a building with a hole in it where a missile passed through. It’s across the street from a government office, and a couple kilometers down from my favorite street tag, calling for a general strike (“generalni štrajk”). There are more than one can’t-miss bakeries between the two. The people are warm and inviting, but there’s an edge.

Back home, Black Lives Matter demonstrations are disrupting freeway traffic. I send some money to the legal defense fund of those arrested, but I wish I could do more. Only my privilege allows me to do less. We’re all products of our environment. My environment made me a coward. I’m working on being better.
